This is fabulous. It says everything that I believe to be true in our current educational system. The bottom line is that "education" as we know it, does not work. We are wasting precious minds trying to make them funtion in old ways of thinking. Worse, since they "refuse" to work in the traditional manners of thinking, we medicate them to make them do so. It's a shame and time we change it before it's too late.
I have often wondered about what is being measured when standardized tests are given. Are these tests predictive of future success in life? Are they strongly correlated to happiness in one's work, family, community? Or, are they simply predictive of future success in school? I like the comments about collaborative learning.
